Dear GCP volunteers, friends and supporters,
‘Tis the season to give thanks, and here at GCP we could not be more thankful to all of you for making this a wonderful 2020-21 season, despite the stress and uncertainty all around us. We are also thankful for our new home, The Training Kitchen, where we hosted our workshops and welcomed new volunteers.

Workshops and Dig-ins
Seeds to Starts:
At each of our Seeds to Starts workshops, we started close to 400 vegetables and herbs and the seedlings we grew are now thriving in our recipient gardens….

Dig-ins:
Thanks to all the volunteers who joined us for our Dig-Ins….
Plant Sales
As we were forced to cancel the Fall Festival two years in a row, we put our heads together and decided to hold seasonal plant sales at Boggy Creek Farm each spring and fall. All the sales were successful, but the Fall 2020 sale was the best. We are overjoyed to share those results:
4” Vegetable Seedlings sold: 2,862 4”
Herb Seedlings sold: 787 4”
Flower Seedlings sold: 401
Seed Packets sold: 514
Gross sales: $11,300

These much-needed funds will pay for all the materials we need to keep our gardens growing, including 4″ pots, soil, compost, raised beds and gardening tools.

“We should all be proud of making a success out of something that never existed, and during a pandemic. Our plants are in a lot of gardens around town,” said Board Member Brooke Letterle. “Now we have a hang of this thing, our main focus in addition to growing high quality organic plants, is finding opportunities to reduce our plant sale costs, to ensure your support has the biggest impact possible.”

If you have 4″ pots or trays at home that you’d like to donate or would like to drop off a bag of organic seed starter mix, this will help us reduce some of these costs so we can use the funds directly for programs that help our garden recipients and allow us to expand our reach. Or feel free to donate funds directly to help support our future plant sales. Make a donation today
Silent Auction
At our virtual silent auction this year, our board members teamed up to create an auction website and secure amazing donations from local businesses and companies. Thanks to our incredible donors and bidders we were able to raise $1,442 after covering expenses! A HUGE shout out to our awesome donors:   Exaco ~ Articulture Designs ~ LOVE Cycling Studio ~ Milam & Greene ~ Travis Heights Wine & Spirits Fall Creek Vineyards ~ Twisted Alchemy ~ LALO Tequila ~ ATX Cocina ~ Sala & Betty Chef Maggie Perkins ~ Central Market ~L’Oca d’Oro Restaurant ~ Natural Gardener ~ Springdale HANDMADE ~ Farmhouse Delivery ~ Kendra Scott ~ EcoClean Dry Cleaners
What’s Next?
As we look forward to 2022, we want to continue our mission and plant even more organic vegetable gardens in the community, grow our volunteer roster, and add a few new Dig-in Leaders and members in our Board of Directors. This is where YOU come in. We could not do any of these things without the support of this wonderful community which we love to serve. If you or any of your friends and family is interested, please contact us! We would love to welcome you.
Thank you again for your constant support and donations. It means the world to us. And come join us in January at TTK when we begin planting seeds for our Spring gardens. Check our website for the dates and times of next year’s Seeds to Starts workshops and Dig-ins.
